استهدف هذا البحث استطلاع رأي عينة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس في جامعة سطام بن عبد العزيز عن دور الجامعة في صناعة المعرفة (الواقع والمستقبل) في ظل تحديات عصر الثورة المعلوماتية والتکنولوجيا الرقمية، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث تم تصميم استبيان، تکون من خمسة مجالات في دور الجامعة في صناعة المعرفة، وضمت هذه المجلات کل من، (الخدمات الإلکترونية، البحث العلمـي، عضو هيئة التدريس، برنامج الدراسات العليا، المنهج الجامعي)، ويعد تحکيم أداة البحث تم تطبيقها على عينة من أقراد مجتمع البحث والتي تکونت من مجموعة من أعضاء هيئة تدريس الذين يعملون في هذه الجامعة بمختلف التخصصات، وبعد جمع البيانات الخاصة بالموضوع، تم تفريغها وتحليلها بالأساليب الإحصائية المناسبة، ومن ثم ظهرت نتائج البحث، والتي کانت من أهمها أن دور الجامعة في صناعة المعرفة وفق تقديرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس کان بمستوى قوي في مجال دور عضو هيئة التدريس، وبرنامج الدراسات العليا، والخدمات الإلکترونية، وکان هذا الدور بمستوى متوسط في مجال: کل من دور البحث العلمي والمنهج الجامعي، وفي ضوء تلک النتائج أوصت الباحثة بالاستفادة القصوى من الخدمات الإلکترونية التي تقدمها الجامعة في إنتاج وصناعة المعرفة، والتعاون مع الهيئات، والمؤسسات العلمية، والبحثية داخل المملکة وخارجها عن طريق إجراء البحوث وتبادل المعارف والخبرات، والإسهام في تحسين مستوى برامج المرحلة الجامعية للتفاعل مع برامج الدراسات العليا بالجامعة.
